Hello! Name's Vanille! I'm from a lil' place in Gran Pulse called Oerba. I'm pretty friendly, so if you ever need anything, I'll be sure to help!

highwinds:

How coincidental that Vanille appeared before her eyes in the midst of looking for her. Lady Luck truly loved Fang, didn’t she? The thought made her grin deepen, instantly walking forward and opening her arms to invite the pigtailed girl to come give her a hug.

” Coulda asked ya the same thing, hon. ‘Fraid we’re both a bit confused on that. “

While playing it casually, she was immensely relieved that her partner was here in the long run. The thing that was worrying her now, however, was the pack of rocks that slowly made their way over to the duo. Fang’s strands of wild hair bounced infront of her face as she looked back to see how far they were, turning back to nudge at the group with her shoulder.

” Hate to bust up this sweet reunion, but I think it might be for the best if we left this swamp. Get the hug outta the way so I can carry ya outta here! “

The taller L’cie from Oerba acted as if nothing happened! They had been separated again, but Vanille tried to stay strong. It wasn’t until she was in bed, crying in her sleep, did she mourn for the lost Fang, fearing she’d never see her again. She never forgot about her. Not once.

The girl jogged forward, wrapping her arms around the woman’s body. She held back tears in her efforts, giving a tight squeeze to show she truly missed her.

“I’m hugging as hard as I can!” Vanille pouted, shutting her eyes to squeeze harder. She looked up and felt a bit bad, her regretful eyes glancing. “Did we make them mad? I didn’t mean to —”

gingerruinsexplorer:

“Well, actually - friendship bracelets have been around for quite a while! If my studies on archeology and the history of things is right, then…hm…”

He paused a moment, putting a finger to his forehead in thought, before piping up again:

They were first seen in the US in the early 1970s, I believe! According to tradition, the recipient of the bracelet must wear it until the cords wear out and fall off naturally to honor the hard work and love his or her friend put into making it…quite touching, huh?”

That bit of information he’d managed to dredge up from his head aside, he grinned, saying:

“Well, you seem pretty nice! So I think a lot of people would be happy to be buddies with you! As for making bracelets for a friend…that sounds neat. I got a lot of time free too, so why not? How exactly do you make them?”

The ginger-haired teenager proceeded to put the rather heavy bag he had down to the side before sitting down near the lady Vanilla- er - Vanille, looking all the more excited and curious about the thing.

“Wowzers, really? You sure do seem like you know a lot!” Vanille beamed, impressed with the male’s logic and knowledge on the subject. The pigtailed beauty laughed a bit, looking down at her bracelets. She was happy they held some significance, then! Even if she didn’t know what the ‘US’ was, she sure did know it must be important in his world.

“Well, there’s a clothing shop or two in town and I just ask for some extra fabric. There’s quite a bit left over since people seem to be less concerned with fashion here. But, I’d love to get the materials myself but, that sounds awfully hard…” Don’t you need sheep to make string? Or something?! She had no clue!

[Her accent made him release a small snort, amused momentarily as he waited for a response. Wally didn’t expect her to know everything, but it was a good bet she had to know some things that he didn’t.]

So far so good. I knew about that, yeah.

[As Vanille started to go into a ramble about what she knew, he only seemed to be able to gather some of what she said. There was some good spots for food and other spots that were ‘pretty’, but nothing about … well, about anything that he was interested in. But it was nice to have someone to talk to, so he waited until she was finished, listening intently.]

Guess you do know a lot, huh?

“Kinda, but not really.” Shrugging a bit, she had no clue about how serious their situation was. But, Vanille always wanted to make sure people were taken care of, even if she had to act as a guide herself.

“I’m in the same boat as you and everyone else. I guess ya just learn as ya go along!”

Wait…Vanille…wait one minute!

Who’s here?

Hm, well, lots of people! People I didn’t know and even people I do know!

Fang, for one and Serah and even Lightning!

chocobofro:

errr

Would you believe yes?

-twee twee-

Then you should be glad you’re wrong!

Now you won’t be a lonely old man with a bird. Your friends are here.

[When she spoke, he had a small hope that maybe she knew a little bit more than he did about this place. Wally only learned things here and there from passerbys or some old friends, but no one actually sat down with him to tell him the deal about this place.]

Glad someone gets where I’m coming from.

[He ran a hand through ginger locks and then thought for a moment before speaking again.]

I don’t mean to bug you so much, but what do you know about this place?

“Oh, it’s not a ‘buggger’ at all.” Vanille said with a smile. She was glad she was helping people, instead of simply relying on others to help her.

Tapping her finger against her cheek, she tried to think of a place to start. “Well, this place is Arcadios and you’re here because someone saved you! But, you probably already know that part….”

“This is Polis and I heard there’s a swamp and there’s a really pretty lake I like to go fishing at and and —” And Vanille continued to ramble.

Oi! If you’re here, you’re obviously somewhere!

Kiddo!!

Huh! You seem a bit surprised to see me. Don’t tell me you thought you’d be here alone?

highwinds:

The swamp was a bit busy compared to what she always assumed it would be like. Fang had a hard time deciding on if the stone men were monsters like the ones that lurked Gran Pulse, or a tribe of humanoids that lived out on their own. Either way, she was prepared to kick their ass if they didn’t help her like she wished.

She was being swarmed at this point because of her antagonizing. While they were usually friendly creatures, they did not take kindly to threats and any kind of provocative statements. Most were taller than even her, so she was beginning to wonder how many she could take out before she was knocked out as well.

” Bring it on then, ya stupid rocks! “

Her feet dug themselves into the ground securely, ready for a fight. It was only when she heard the distinct accent of another Pulsian did her attention leave the rock people entirely. There was no way in hell she would ever mistake a voice like that, even if her mind lacked a few screws and she was desperate to find her.

” Get the hell outta the way. “

And with that, a rough shove was given to the one that blocked her from the voice she had heard. It tumbled to the ground harshly and scattered about the ground, but Fang didn’t even give it a second glance. She knew exactly what she was after. The orange hair stuck out like a sore thumb and her canines poked out of her mouth, the smile on her face exemplifying the joy of her discovery.

” Heh! Knew I’d find ya eventually. What, did ya think you were going to get away from me forever? “

Vanille had been stuck with her own troubles — well, more so guilt then anything. She had only wanted to visit the village to explore, not destroy these grumpy stone men!

She was looking for an answer, help even, but to her dismay — the help she got was not one she had anticipated. Her knees dug into the ground, scooping aimlessly at the rocks before her eyes focused on the familiar, older female.

“F-Fang?!” She cried out, dropping the stone pebbles from her hands. Her legs lifted her up to stand, almost speechless at the sight of her.

“But, but, but. I wasn’t! You —” Vanille stumbled over her words, her eyes swelling with glossy tears at the mere thought. “W-Where have you been?”

arrow-through-time:

In the past few days Serah had pretty much kept to herself, with everything that had been going on she’d thought it best to just stay out the way. Though today the weather had been exceptionally nice so she’d decided to venture out with Mog of course. It was rather warm but her attire suited such conditions so it didn’t bother her much. She’d made her way out to Polis, it’d been a bit of treck but she’d been there before any way so not as tiring as the first time.

Holding Mog close to her chest as she entered the city, she didn’t really have an objective here it was just a chance to look around. She’d been once before but hadn’t had the chance to really look around. Seeing a rather large water fountain in the center of the street she’d walked into about to just continue on, that was until someone caught her eye. Looking back she stepped around the fountain, surprised to see who it was.

“Vanille?” She asked as she stepped around in front of her. She had no idea the red head was even here! Then again this place was pretty pig and the chances of running into her weren’t the highest…but still. “Vanille I had no idea you were here…ah! You…you remember me right? I’m Serah” she corrected herself, as their meeting had been brief.

Her soft hum continued on, replaying the little melody from her home long forgotten. It was sweet and subtle, enough to keep her in cheery spirits. One strand over, one under, twist and she was finished! The turquoise and brown bracelet was finished, adding to the pile of brighter shades.

However, a voice from her past echoed in her ears and her attention was brought on by the pink haired girl she … hopefully had saved. “Serah?”

Her voice cracked a bit, her form standing up in shock. “Of course I remember you! You’re here and — ” Terra was right, it really was her. “You’re not …crystal!”

[He noticed she seemed bubbly about this situation, which made him more lax, because it was easier to get along with someone so happy. Then again, he wondered if she really felt that uplifting all the time or if it was just another mask she wore to get through the day. It was easy to pretend to be fine all the time in a situation like this, just to get by.]

Vanille.

[That was a strange name to him, but not overly unusual due to his diverse friends that range from Earth-bound to .. well, wherever they came from. It wasn’t too hard to remember or say, so that was a plus for the red head.]

Not very long. It’s kind of hard to keep track of the time, but I just got here this week. It’s not so bad.

What about you?

The boy seemed to be doing some internal monologue, or at least, thinking about something. Vanille didn’t want to ask him, it would come off rather rude, now wouldn’t it?

“I know what you mean!” The girl giggled, even if she quite literally had no lick of sense when it came to Wally’s situation with time. “I think I’ve been here for around two weeks? Not too long, but I’m not a new comer either!”
